Auditions for the Large Chorus' 2009-10 season have been scheduled for Sunday, September 6, from 1 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. and on Thursday, September 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Singers will be asked for one solo (oratorio/cantata aria or art song (preferred but not required -- a hymn or patriotic song will do), major and chromatic scales, pitch memory drill, range and vocalization, and sight-reading. Auditioners will also be asked to do a written exercise in basic music theory. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should come 10 minutes early to fill out an information form.

Normal rehearsal times for the choir are Sunday afternoons from 2-4:30 p.m.; additional evening rehearsals are scheduled during the week before concerts. The choir's normal season consists of a fall and spring concert and the annual Mardi Gras celebration in February; the 2008-09 season featured two concerts in the spring.
