Auditions for the Large Chorus' 2011-12 season have been scheduled for Sunday, August 28, from 6-9 p.m.; Monday, August 29,  from 4-9 p.m.; and Thursday, September 1, from 4:30-8 p.m.p.m., at Brainerd United Methodist Church. Appointments are necessary!  Singers will go through exercises on Latin vowels, range and intonation, pitch memory and intervals; they will be asked to sing major, minor or chromatic scales, sight read a chorale and a rhythm exercise, and read a selection from Handel's Messiah (we will provide the segment via e-mail). Auditioners will also be asked to do a written exercise in basic music theory. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should come 10 minutes early to fill out an information form. Anyone who would like to receive copies of scales before the auditions may request them via the contact information below.

Normal rehearsal times for the choir are Sunday afternoons from 2-4:30 p.m.; additional evening rehearsals are scheduled during the week before concerts. The choir's normal season consists one or two concerts each semester, plus the annual  Mardi Gras celebration in February.
