Soprano Beth DuRoy’s delivery has been described by Classical Voice of North Carolina as “bright and vigorous” and “left one wanting to hear more.” Previous appearances with the Chattanooga Bach Choir include performances of Michael Haydn’s Ave Regina caelorum, Schubert’s Mass in C Major, Bach’s St. John Passion and Magnificat, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and BWV 79. Other concert performances include BWV 80 with Asheville Choral Society, “A Taste of Opera” with Asheville Lyric Opera, “A Chamber Noel” and “Opera Faves and Raves” with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. She has appeared in numerous opera roles, and has given recitals for Asheville Lyric Opera, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Southern Adventist University, Bryan College, Covenant College, and at the Hunter Museum of Art. Beth is the Director of Children’s and Youth Music at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church and is Adjunct Professor of Voice at Covenant College where she teaches studio voice and vocal courses. She holds an MM in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Rosella Ewing, mezzo-soprano, is delighted to be performing with the Chattanooga Bach Choir and Orchestra again. Ms. Ewing has performed many opera roles, and has appeared professionally with Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, New Orleans Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, and at the Rose Theater in Lincoln Center. She brings her passion for opera to her performances in concerts, chamber ensembles, and art song recitals. In recital Ms. Ewing has performed works by a wide variety of composers. She has been a guest soloist in concerts with several ensembles including the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Asheville Lyric Opera, Opera in the Rock, and Choral Arts of Chattanooga.

After earning a BA in Music from The University of the South, Ms. Ewing earned her MM in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College and her DMA in Voice and Opera from Louisiana State University. Dr. Ewing is currently teaching voice at Lee University and Dalton State College. Her previous teaching positions include Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and Visiting Professor of Music at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

Christoper Reames, Tenor, enjoys an engaging career as a concert artist and recitalist. He is a recent finalist in international competitions with the Vocalis Consort, Joy in Singing, NY Oratorio Society, Art Song Preservation Society of NY, Franco-American Vocal Academy, and NATS organizations. Recent concert performances include: The Creation, Elijah, Messiah, J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, Christmas Oratorio, St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion, and several sacred cantatas (often with the Chattanooga Bach Choir). Christopher is a former fellowship recipient at the Tanglewood and Aspen Music Festivals. He is an Associate Professor of Voice at Tennessee Tech University. Visit christopherreames.com for more.

Originally from Boiling Springs, North Carolina, bass-baritone Robert Harrelson studied voice at Indiana University with famed basses Giorgio Tozzi and Roy Samuelsen. During his 20-year career with the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants in Washington, D.C., he performed for four U.S. presidents, as well as numerous U.S. and international political, diplomatic, and military leaders. His hundreds of performances across the U.S. have been seen and heard by millions around the world in person, on television, and via the internet. Recent opera roles performed include Rocco, Il Commendatore, and the Physician (Opera Carolina’s Macbeth).
